We're Brian and Margaret, Managers of Tretio Caravan and Camping Park.  Welcome to our website.

Outdoor Activities:
This area is ideal for a variety of outdoor activities such as:

  • Surfing
  • Coasteering
  • Kayaking
  • Climbing and many more

Activities can be booked through companies such as: Outdoor Wales and TYF ( Twr y Felin )

Local Beaches

  • Abereiddi – 1.5 miles, free car parking with toilet facilities, fresh sandwiches and drinks available April – October from mobile van. Famous for the ‘Blue Lagoon’. Dogs allowed. Coastal award.

  • Traeth Llyn – 15 mins. walk from Abereiddi  with 120 steps down to a secluded sandy beach. (no facilities). Dogs allowed.

  • Whitesands  Blue flag – 4.9 miles, charge for car parking with café and toilet facilities, d isabled friendly.  Ideal surfing beach, surfboard hire and lessons available at beach. No dogs May – September.

  • Porth Melgan – 20 mins walk from Whitesands along coastal path. Sandy beach no facilities and dogs allowed.

  • Caerfai – 5 miles, free parking above beach with stunning views and a picnic area. Sandy beach restricted space as tide comes in.

 

  • Newgale Blue flag - 8 miles, limited free parking at Newsurf (surf shop) but other car parks also available (charged). Another ideal surfing beach. Surf, kayak hire, showers, changing facilities and lessons available. Sands café – highly recommended! Dogs allowed on certain areas of beach May – Sept.

  • Trefin – 4 miles, small bay with very limited roadside parking. Good food available at the Ship Inn inclucing breakfasts and snacks.

  • Aber Pwyll – 20 mins walk from site, small bay ideal for solitude.

  • Abermawr / Aberbach – 9 miles, a secluded pebble beach on Strumble peninsular – no facilities but great to getaway from it all! Limited parking on roadside.

Local Harbours

  • Porthgain – 4 miles, working harbour ideal for fishing. Slipway with free boat launching and ample parking. Great food at the Sloop Inn and The Shed.  Two art galleries, public pay phone and toilets.
  • Pothclais – 5.5 miles, boat launching at a small cost. National trust car park, toilets and kiosk for light refreshments. Ideal for fishing, crabbing or just sitting and enjoying the variety of boats in this idyllic harbour ( a firm favourite for us!).
  • Solva – 6 miles, boat launching at a small cost. Variety of restaurants and pubs in the village. Gift shops.

St. Davids – 4 miles.

  • Smallest city in Britain
  • Cathedral – visit recommended
  • A variety of eating establishments ranging from snacks to full a la carte menus – ( We will be happy to give our recommendations)
  • Deli is ideal for freshly filled rolls etc. at reasonable prices.
  • Banks and cashpoints.

  • Gift shops
  • Tourist information
  • Booking offices for boat trips/outdoor activities etc.

Wildlife and some points of interest:

  • There are a variety of boat trips to suit all ages and expectations to see marine wildlife. These range from a trip to Ramsey Island RSPB  to longer voyages to Grassholm to see the thousands of gannets and seal / dolphin watch as well as white water adventure on the jet boats – experiences not to be missed. Book with Thousand Islands and Voyages of Discovery as well as other operators.
  • St Justinian lifeboat station as seen on the TV series ‘Lifeboat’. 6.5 miles.
  • Pembrokeshire sheepdogs – 15 mins walk. Ideal for any day as mostly undercover. Highly recommended for all animal lovers, fun and entertaining with home made cakes and refreshments.
  • Historic attractions include a multitude of castles, an iron age fort – a little further afield. Scolton Manor has had positive feedback from some of our clients.
  • Strumble Lighthouse – 9 miles.  Stunning views of this idyllic coastline with an abundance of seals.  Also has an observatory.
  • Horse riding is available both locally at Whitesands trekking centre and further away at Nolton stables where you can experience beach riding.
  • Preseli hills offers a good day out for walking with breathtaking views.
  • Crug Glas – Michelin star restaurant ideal for that special occasion. Highly recommended.
